Chatterjee dada and his family, Warsaw-Poland

31.05.2011

I met Chatterjee da and his family last year when I came to Poland. He’s so humble and has such a lovely family. He’s from Calcutta, my native area, like my big brother. First time he helped me a lot. I stayed with his family, it was a great experience. I forgot his number, so I couldn’t contact him before and I was really happy to meet him in Indian Embassy this year. He offered me to come to his place again.  I couldn’t come to visit him that day because I went to Katowice. I couldn’t visit right after coming back also, because I lost my bike and was busy. After few days when the things got easier, one evening I went to visit his family.

His wife, I call her didi, prepared a lovely dinner for us. After food I went to visit another friend, so I didn’t stay with them that night. After two days I came to their home again and stayed there one night. Chatterjee da made a bed for me that evening and told me that any time I am welcome, because it’s my home, they don’t want to bother me when I’m busy, but they showed me that I’m like a family member for them.

One day, it was weekend, so he had time, so he offered me to go to have a barbeque in the Cultural Park where people are coming just to relax. We went in the morning at 10 am, it took us 30minutes to reach that park by bus. I had an interview in TVN “Goodmorning Warsaw”, so I was a little late. Chatterjee da left alone before to save the place for us and we joined him later.

This family made me very happy and made me feel as if I’m not so far from my own family, I felt a great love and care. Didi always packed ome lunch food for me. This is a great loving gestures I will never forget in my life .
